Situated at an altitude of 7200 ft from sea level, Government Degree College Chakrata is a renowned education hub. The college was started in the year 2004 by Pritam Singh, afterward and at current Minister of Rural Development in the Govt of Uttarakhand and named after his father Shri Gulab Singh who is a famous Minister in the Government of unbroken U.P., a well known leader in Jaunsar-Babar and renowned for his involvement to make complete Jaunsar-Babar as a Schedule Tribe area.
